chang.kim (this site)
The site you’re standing in is itself a portfolio piece. It is a static Astro build that drops a hand-rolled vanilla-canvas JRPG engine on the front page; every other room you can reach is a normal long-form reader surface that opens over the world.[^1] It runs on Cloudflare Pages because Cloudflare Pages is free and runs on Cloudflare’s CDN, which is more than I deserve.
The constraints were the interesting part. No backend services. EXIF GPS stripped at build time. Sharp encoding the photo library inside a 2 GB k8s runner pod without OOMing. A 16-color palette that has to read on both a phone and a 4K monitor. The full design contract is in the /blog/chang-kim-build writeup; the constraints turned out to be friendlier than the open-ended version of the same project ever was.
The recursion is intentional — pointing to chang.kim from inside chang.kim is a small joke that fits the JRPG genre.
