Adventure Redux

13 MAY 2026

Adventure Redux is a TypeScript MMORPG I’ve been building in the gaps between everything else.1 The “Redux” in the name is a callback to an earlier high-school version2 — a Java text-adventure with a hand-rolled XML room loader — that ran for about as long as it took my friends to realize I’d been making them play it for credit.

The current version is the adult attempt at the same itch: a small, well-designed room-graph world with a real engine underneath it. [REPLACE — current status: in active development / paused / scope (1-2 sentences on what’s playable, what’s still on the bench, who’s helped).]

The reason chang.kim looks the way it does is that I started prototyping the room-and-tile layout for Adventure Redux’s overworld and realized it was a more honest way to organize a personal website than a hero image and a CTA. So the site you’re inside is, in a literal sense, Adventure Redux’s lighter cousin — the JRPG metaphor proved itself out here first.
